Treating injured employees of every federal agency in the Phoenix area

Postal employees

Postal is most of who we see

Carriers, clerks, mail handlers and rural carriers. We know what a route does to a body over twenty years, and we know the paperwork the Postal Service and OWCP expect to see.

  • Route injuries. Falls on a step, dog bites, lifting trays and parcels, heat illness in a Phoenix summer.
  • Wear and tear that built up. Shoulders, knees, backs and carpal tunnel from years of casing and carrying. That is a CA-2.
  • Claims that already got denied. We review the file, find what the report was missing, and rebuild it.
  • Your steward stays in the loop. Bring your union steward's information and we will keep them updated with your permission.

Who we help

Built for injured federal employees

Postal carriers and clerks, VA staff, TSA officers, Border Patrol and federal law enforcement, DoD civilians, Bureau of Prisons staff, and anyone else covered by the Federal Employees' Compensation Act.

  • A fresh injury from a single shift
  • A repetitive-strain condition that built up over years
  • A claim that was denied or stalled somewhere else
We only see federal employees. If you were hurt working for a private company or the State of Arizona, that is a different system and we will point you to the right place.
02
The problem

Why federal claims get denied

Most federal work injury claims are not denied because the injury isn't real. They are denied because the paperwork doesn't say what OWCP needs it to say. The rules come straight from the Federal Employees' Compensation Act (U.S. Department of Labor).

No causation statement

OWCP needs a doctor to connect the injury to the job, in writing, in specific language. A vague note gets a claim denied.

A CA-1 filed late

Miss the 30-day window and you can lose continuation of pay. Most people don't find out until the money stops.

A doctor who's never written one

Federal narrative reports are their own skill. Most clinics don't know the system. We built our clinic around it.

03
How it works

Four steps from injury to full duty

You make one phone call. We take it from there.

1

Call us the day you're hurt

We get you seen fast and tell you exactly which form to file: CA-1 for a traumatic injury, CA-2 for a condition that developed over time.

2

Get evaluated and documented

Our medical team examines you and writes the narrative report OWCP actually reads: mechanism of injury, diagnosis, causation, and work restrictions.

3

Get treated at no cost to you

Once your claim is accepted, treatment is billed directly to the Department of Labor. We manage the authorizations. You heal.

4

Get back to full duty

We track your restrictions, communicate with your agency, and keep the documentation current until you're back to work.

04
Your first visit

What to bring the first time you come in

Ten minutes of gathering before you walk in can save weeks on the back end. If you do not have all of it, come anyway. We will work with whatever you have.

1

Photo ID

Your driver's license, plus your agency, your duty station and your supervisor's name.

2

Date and time

The day, the hour and the exact spot where it happened. Write it down before you forget.

3CA

CA-1 or CA-2

If you already filed one, bring it. Bring your claim number too if you have been given one.

4

Who saw it

Names of anyone who witnessed it, or anyone you told about it that same day.

5

Restrictions

Any light duty or work restriction paperwork your agency has already handed you.

6

Medications

What you take now, and any past treatment on the same body part.

You do not need to bring insurance or money. Once your claim is accepted, treatment is billed straight to the Department of Labor. Not to you, and not to a health plan.

What happens while you are here

Most first visits run about an hour. Come in your work clothes if you are coming straight off a shift. That is normal here.

1

We get the story straight

A case manager sits down with you and writes it down in the order OWCP reads it.

2

You get examined

A provider documents the injury, the diagnosis and what caused it.

3

We file the form with you

We tell you which form you need and help you file it, at no charge.

4

You leave knowing

Your restrictions, your next appointment and exactly what your agency will be told.

Our mission
"Most patients walk in having already been told no. We think that's wrong."

We started this clinic out of frustration with how medicine treats injured federal workers. Most patients arrive having been told no by an agency, by a clinic that doesn't understand OWCP, sometimes by their own doctor. They are under-believed. We built a practice to fix that.

Roger came to us with a condition most clinics have a hard time getting approved. No one wanted to even attempt his case. He worked with our case managers and medical team, we built the documentation his claim needed, and his case was approved. Roger finally got the care he needed. That is the whole job.

Hi, my name is Ryan! I have been a physical therapist assistant for a little over ten years, specializing in chronic pain and orthopedic conditions. I am a firm believer of empowering patients in their recovery with pain education, and a slow and steady approach to exercises to get you ready to go back to work and life. My wife and I recently moved back to the Valley after working across the country. We are an outdoorsy family and spend as much time as we can outdoors letting our son run wild while his baby brother takes notes.

FAQ

Questions federal employees ask us

Do I have to pay anything for treatment?

No. Once your OWCP claim is accepted, all medical care is billed directly to the U.S. Department of Labor. There are no copays, deductibles, or out-of-pocket costs for treatment of your accepted work injury.

Which federal employees do you treat?

Any civilian federal employee covered by the Federal Employees' Compensation Act: USPS, VA, TSA, CBP and Border Patrol, Bureau of Prisons, DoD civilians, and every other federal agency in the Phoenix area. We do not treat private-sector or State of Arizona workers' compensation cases.

What is the difference between a CA-1 and a CA-2?

A CA-1 is for a traumatic injury that happened during a single shift. A CA-2 is for an occupational disease or condition that developed over more than one shift, like carpal tunnel or a chronic back injury. Filing the wrong form, or filing late, is one of the most common reasons claims are delayed or denied.

My claim was already denied. Can you still help?

Often, yes. Most denials come down to documentation: missing causation, vague diagnosis, or no medical narrative at all. We review the file, examine you, and rebuild the medical evidence so the claim can be reconsidered or appealed.

Can I choose my own doctor for a federal work injury?

Yes. Under FECA, injured federal employees have the right to choose their treating physician. Your agency can suggest a provider, but the choice is yours. Choosing a clinic that knows OWCP is the single biggest thing you can do to protect your claim.

How soon should I be seen after an injury?

Immediately. Continuation of pay depends on filing the CA-1 within 30 days and getting medical evidence on file quickly. Call us the same day if you can; we prioritize new federal injuries.

Do you help with the paperwork?

Yes, at no charge. Our OWCP case managers help you complete the CA-1 or CA-2, file through ECOMP, and keep every follow-up report on time. The clinic handles the documentation so you can focus on healing.
